Latest Crazes!
Containering
The latest craze to hit Paeroa is here – it's called 'Containering'. And it's as simple as sticking a container in your front (or back) yard. Tyre-swans are out, containers are in.
Liase with the Tourism Paeroa Dept.
There is so much to see and do in Paeroa it's no surprise you may have probing questions to ask us about all or one of the wonders. It may even be something not wonder-related? If you have any queries please engage with one of our friendly qualified tourism staff. Or one of our unqualified one.
Maurice Morrison
The self appointed 'Deputy Paeroa minister of tourism to Paeroa'
Maurice Morrison is a man with his fingers in all sorts of pies. Not only is he the minister of tourism, he runs an antiques store, is secretary of the Paeroa Lawn Bowl's Club, judges the annual dog show, and is the proud owner of the Waikato's biggest model railway collection. Maurice wants to put Paeroa on the tourist map and can't understand why they don't get the same tourist numbers as Queenstown and Rotorua. He isn't married because he's married to his job.
Colin Brown
Special envoy to Paeroa
Colin shot to fame in the three-legged race at the 1990 Paeroa Rotary & Lions Club Combined Picnic, where he got an honourable mention for finishing. In his formative years Colin has fine-tuned his people skills by working tirelessly with the residents of the Sunshine Retirement Village, where he has become known as a 'nice young man'. Therefore he was the natural choice to pilot Mr Edgar's 1971 Ford Transit, and Paeroa's Tourism Road Show around New Zealand. Paeroa's future is in Colin's capable hands.
